Sessions:

Initial Office Visit (including hypnosis session) can last up to three hours Subsequent sessions may run one to one and one-half hours. Fees are per session, not per hour. For stopping unwanted habits, like smoking and weight gain, Mr. Schuman recommends beginning with four sessions. More sessions may be needed, but you should know by the fourth session, or sooner, that you are accomplishing your goal. Each client's issue is addressed individually. No one can predict with certainty the number of sessions appropriate for that person. You, in consultation with Mr. Schuman, will make that decision. The protocol for some medical issues is ten to twelve sessions. Clients choosing to pay in full for four sessions at the I.O.V. will be given a small monetary incentive to do so.

Hypnosis was accepted by the American Medical Association as a useful treatment modality in 1958. However, hypnosis is still considered experimental by many insurance companies. Mr. Schuman does not accept or file insurance. You may contact you provider regarding repayment for services, and Mr. Schuman will be happy to provide you with a properly coded computer statement for that purpose. However, you should expect to pay for services personally at the time of the office visit. Mr. Schuman accepts cash, check, MasterCard, VISA, and Discover Cards.
